Hi All,

Bought a new HDTV and getting a new connection :)

I have decided to go for Videocon D2H and not Tata Sky for mainly the rip off at TS(HD access fee, really?) and the continuous wait for them to provide new HD channels.

I was wondering which is the best way to order online/through Customer Care(CC)/at dealership?

Will I get any discount either way?

The Videocon CC quoted a a price of 6090 for Annual Platinum HD Pack with installation of HD DVR box. Should I go for this?

Also, I need a parallel SD connection for the little CRT in the other room, but I think I will have to shell out the HD connection multi-room fee which is a waste! Is there a workaround?

The price seams fair.

Regarding the second room, you can run a parallel connection, after the STB-out but this essentially means same channel on both TVs. The STB has an RF-out that you can use for parallel connection. If you want true control, then multi-room is the way out. Since the second TV is CRT, you can opt for SD-only service, if you choose to opt for multi-room. Talk to the CC for options.

I called videocon d2h and they said that they no longer sell dvr trhu cc. Also I contacted a dealer he is saying that there are too many problems with the dvr that is why videocon has stopped the same.
