Right now I am listening to ...

Joe Hisaishi's music is very interesting. The Japanese influence is strong.
Love Kikujiro and most of his Studio Ghibli projects.
Cheers,
Raghu

The founder of Kirana gharana singing thumris in his inimitable voice and style. The recording is from the early 1930s and was released on LP in the sixties. Khansahib’s prowess on gamak and taans is exemplary, but his natural ease and ability to move the listener is unparalleled.

The late musicologist Shri Ratanjankar’s words sum it up best:
“It was like a walk in a cool, moon-lit garden of sweet-smelling flowers that one felt when listening to the perfectly tuneful, and dreamy cadences of Khan Saheb's music. One was lifted up into a dream land. The dream haunted the mind long after the music had ceased.”
