Right now I am listening to ...

been listening to Don Mclean of late...the only songs that i had heard were the ubiquitous American Pie and Vincent....but there quite a few light listening gems in The Very Best of Don Mclean on EMI...
eg.
And I love you so, Fools Paradise, Crying ...yes this last one is written Orbison...Maclean is kind of like Cat Stevens..only more American and less mystical...

A retrospective on the works of Music Directors Shankar Jaikishen on Times Now-
Took me back on a long, nostalgic trip......

An awesome redux of Jaco Pastorius' big band album, brought to life by giants like Marcus Miller, Victor Bailey, Victor Wooten, Jimmy Haslip, Christian McBride, Gerald Veasley, and Richard Bona. A veritable bass feast and one of the rare instances of the copy almost upstaging the original...

Hi,

Harris rocks in this album. Watch out for the not so popular 'Anal Mele Panithuli'
song. And Surya astounded me with his performance in the 'Ava Enna Enna Thedi Vantha' song.

cheers,
sri

A wonderful live album showcasing the band's characteristic tight jazz rock sound . This album is extremely good musically and a stand-out in the DMB discography. It definitely makes it to my list of all-time great live albums...

would anyone have 'waisa bhi hota hai'. i'm searching but not getting it. shibani kashyap's no. in it is haunting.

btw, saw three indian bands in idea rocks india finale. jashn and lambada were mindblowing. had the judges speechless. lambada won, and rightfully so.

I second that. But, pieces from other albums are also brilliant. Bombay, Ghajini, Fanaa, etc.

Hi Ashokji
If the whole album is into consideration Roja, Dil se and maybe Taal tops my list

But very true that some tracks from the movies you named are also very good

This is a long walk down memory lane. This album contains some of the best numbers from Beatles:

  • Strawberry Fields Forever
  • Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
  • With A Little Help From My Friends
  • Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds
  • All You Need Is Love
  • Hey Jude
  • Back In The USSR
  • Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da
  • Get Back
  • Here Comes The Sun
  • Come Together
  • Let It Be

Yesterday a few friends of mine tried to play a guitar and sing Hey Jude. We made such a wonderful mess of it, it hit me hard why these guys are so popular. When ever you hear the song, it sounds so easy to sing. But try it yourself, and you fall fall on your face.

Cheers
