Hi Samsung Community,

I recently purchased the Samsung Galaxy S23, and I've encountered a rather frustrating issue. Despite setting my ringtone volume to high for incoming calls, I keep noticing that the ringtone is automatically muted, and I miss all my calls. This happens even though I’ve made sure the Do Not Disturb mode is completely turned off.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

  1. Checked the volume settings: The ringtone volume is set to high, but it seems to mute itself randomly.
  2. Disabled Do Not Disturb: I have confirmed that Do Not Disturb is disabled, yet the issue persists.
  3. Checked for software updates: My device is up to date, and I don’t see any pending updates.
  4. Rebooted the phone: Multiple restarts haven't fixed the issue.
I’ve also looked online for solutions, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone else experienced this issue, or does anyone have suggestions on how I can resolve it? I’m really missing important calls, and it's becoming quite frustrating.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

And I see the same issue with my wife's samsung phone and all these days I have been blaming her for making volume zero.

Check if there are any ROutines being triggered ? in samsung you can set them by location or time...

If it was recently purchased could be a bug and covered by warranty so visit Samsung Service Center and get it resolved. One UI latest version is being rolled out to select Samsung models from next month onwards.

Check for Software updates

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! I recently upgraded my ride with a Kawasaki windshield and it made a huge difference. The added protection from wind and debris really improves comfort, especially on longer trips. Installation was quick and the fit was perfect right out of the box. I also noticed it helps reduce rider fatigue on windy days. If you’re thinking about making your ride more enjoyable, a good windshield is definitely worth it.
It sounds frustrating to deal with, especially when you're missing important calls. One thing you might want to check is whether Bixby Routines or any Automation settings are active — sometimes they can automatically adjust sound settings without you realizing it. Also, check the App Permissions for any third-party apps that might control volume, like battery savers or notification managers. If that doesn't help, a settings reset (not a full factory reset) might fix any hidden configuration issues without erasing your data.
