Academy Award winner actor 'Philip Seymour Hoffman' died today. \
Philip Seymour Hoffman Dead: Actor Dies in New York | Variety

I have seen almost 50% of his movies and loved his role in movies such as Boogie Nights, 25th Hour, Capote, The Savages etc.

Most of the time; he acted as supporting cast in the movies but his presence was always felt. Even his short role in 'The Big Lebowski' was quite amusing.

He was just 46. Quite a young age to depart.
With all due respect to the departed, it was more saddening to know the way he died.

Amazing actor ... Tragic end.
Agree with you ranjeetrain. Drug use is widespread these days.

May His Soul Rest in Peace!

Sad indeed. He had great potential, and he was a true artist, not just an actor. I'm sure he would have gone on to become one among the most senior actors.

Sad... remember him from Almost Famous, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Mission Impossible III and the recent The Hunger Games Catching Fire.

Remember him in the early days as a Radio man in the movie Twister. Seems like he was into rehab for drug related problem. RIP
