Safe volume for listening

I have felt some difficulty hearing at normal volumes.

I have been listening music at these volumes:
AE5 + Xonar DX + Windows 7
11 o clock position AE5
40% volume Windows 7
So total around 25-30% of speakers capacity

Soundmagic PL 50(60%) + E5(100%)

I was enjoying music decently at these volumes but felt a hearing loss.

So now I have come down to:
AE5 11 o clock
Windows 7 32%

Soundmagic PL50(45%) E5(100%)

Perhaps my day to day hearing is a bit better now but I no longer enjoy music that much.

Am I hearing too loud before\after?

myself being a lover of the 'at moderate volume' listening group,have always been wondering how to determine listening levels by measurements based on rigs used(portable/2ch/otherwise).one could then know the maximum permissible limits prior to sustaining permanent hearing loss across one's perceived freq spectrum.

1.i listen to my 2ch rig at the 10 o'clock position on my CA640A v2,at 10-12 foot distance.my source(foobar 2k) volume being at 100%,and windows system volume at 100%.its not LOUD,but u get the idea,i can maintain a normal conversation without being overtly disturbed by the music.

2.on my portable setup,the Cowon J3-Radius DDM combo is at 22-26 with flac/mp3 files.factor in the distance of the end of the stem/eartip from the one's tympanic membrane as well.now given the maximum output of the J3 at 29mW,what level in decibels would that convert to??

mathematical prodigies out there,any set formulas or the like??this would make for an interesting exercise .cheers
