I think it is part of the deal of the week items in ebay and hence you cannot use the discount coupons. Mostly all the deal of the week items would have been discounted and hence further discount are not allowed :)

Did you get the Adata HDD's yet??? Pls update. I also purchased 1 TB Adata HDD from same seller on ebay & guess what he replies after a 4 days of purchase saying that he does not have the Adata HDD in stock & is offering me 1 TB Toshiba Canvio HDD in its place. I now feel that something is amiss here, as the seller seems to be not having Adata HDD's in stock & yet is offering them on ebay deals of the week(3 consecutive deals of the week)

Await your experience w r t the seller & whether he has delivered the Adata HDD's to you.

Sorry I forgot to update that I have received both the HDD. Dealing with the seller is a pain, he does not respond back over the mail but gives false assurances over the phone. I had to give him a piece of mind before he did priority overnight shipping thru Fedex and I received both the HDDs on 27th. He did not ship the items before the prescribed time limit of ebay and ebay initiated auto refund and he did ship the items the same day. I think this seller posted the ad on ebay even before he could lay his hands on the items from China/Taiwan. The HDD is good not as sturdy or well built as WD or Seagate but does the job of what it is supposed to be do. Happy at the price point that you get. How about yours? Did you receive it?

For Mumbai FM's WD / Seagate 1TB USB 3.0 available at McCann Infosys at Lamington Road, Mumbai for Rs. 4,800/- as on last week. They had 5 pieces in stock when I visited last week. Prices slowly declining it seems. You need to browse thru many shops to get the best price as prices are ranging from Rs. 4,800 - 5,300 out there.
 
seagate 2tb 5900rpm HDD Rs.6200 at delta peripherals chennai. I usually buy from this shop both directly and online. The price may not be the cheapest, but a trustable shop.

Bought a WD 1TB portable for 4800/- a couple of days back from Laminton road... If the prices keep falling then I would like to buy a 2TB portable in the 6k range :)...
 
Thanks for sharing the links. I'd rather buy directly from lamington road than ebay unless there is a substantial price difference :) as I keep visiting the place.
 
I bought last week WD My book essential,external hard drive from e.bay @ Rs6700 (deals)..Now price is 7200!! in the deals..First time I am purchasing WD, all my other HDDs are Seagate. This seems to be more of a plastic stuff externally, i mean the case.They have mentioned in the cover saying these are the best selling external HDDs in the world, is it so? I thought seagate was No.1.
Which is better in terms of reliability& service, WD or Seagate?

When >500 HDD were launched,seagate had more failure rate than WD.Also WD used to work more silently.service was door step.So people used to like WD more than WD.I have only seagate running in PC & rests are WD.
 
WD Element 1 TB @ Rs 4,650/- as on yesterday at lamington road from Krazzy Computer World. They have enough in stock at this rate, Picked one up for a friend. I found this the cheapest till date. Seagate available for Rs 4,750/-. Avg price of WD in other shops between Rs. 4,750 - 5,000/-

2 TB between Rs. 6,300 - 6,500 and the ultra portable 2 TB available for a crazy price of Rs. 11,000 - 12,000/-.
