I am looking for a pair of high quality bookshelf speakers, with a FR of down to 55Hz or so, and a sensitivity of 92-93dB/W minimum (to pair with my 2A3 amp). Preferred sound qualities:
- high dynamic slam
- neutral to warm tonality - not bright
- timbral accuracy a must

Suggestions?

Music is an eclectic mix, mostly symphonies with a mix of metal, hip hop and rock.

TIA!

PS - Note: I dont HAVE to spend 3 lakhs if i dont need to. So if there are good options that cost less, i am all ears. My previous speakers used to be a pair of Snell C/Vs and a custom horn which i regretably had to sell when moving.

I've heard Omegas and was surprised at how good they good they sound. It was a while ago and I have forgotten which model it was. It left a lasting impression on me though.

They do look good, spec-wise (the design reminds me of some other brand, cant place which one).

I dont suppose they have a dealer in India, do they?

That sensitivity figure will point you to Ribbon tweeter or a horn loaded speaker

You could check out the Adante series from Elac.

Elac Adante AS-61GB

They are sawing it in half in the video. They sound great too for your kinda music.

Sensitivity isn't great at 85 db. But you are going to find it very difficult finding hard hitting bookshelf speakers that have 90db and above sensitivity due to lack of multiple drivers and limitations imposed by cabinet size.

If you are planning to stick with the 2A3 amp, why bookshelf speakers ? Aren't there better options like single driver based floor standers, horns, multi driver designs like double impact speakers etc. ? High sensitivity and traditional books shelf speaker design does not really go well together. There could be some exotic exceptions though.

Take a look at the review byPrem for double impacts on the forum. I think it may work for you. There is also blumenhofer horn speakers available in Bangalore if the size of DI is a problem.

The Graham BBC licensed bookshelves work pretty well with tubes. Even though they are rated at 87-89dB, they are a completely benign load and are a good match with lower powered tube amps.

Not sure, but you could ask them directly here.
Back in 2011 I had enquired about Super 6 Monitor / Super 6 XRS (which is a floorstander at
marathonspeakers@juno.com
This mail still works because I wrote a few days back for some placement suggestions.
Mr Chacos replies very promptly. Unfortunately the shipping charges USD550/- then, proved too costly.
Last I heard a dealer based out of Gurgaon who had some presence in this forum (exchanged some WhatsApp messages but forgot his name )was planning to stock them.

Check out on Blumenstein Audio full range speakers that use Feastrex drivers. Clark Blumenstein is a gentleman to deal with.

@ vkalia

Audio Note. The entry level AN-Es start at about 3.5l, if I'm not mistaken.
Check out audionote.in and get in touch with Arnaud in B'bay.
