Hi All

This is my first post since joining this jungle of AV.

Read thru various post and recommendations. Thanks for these recommendations and was able to narrow down to Sony 40-EX 650, purchased recently.

I have problem of speaker sound diverting to area other than living room, I had this problem with earlier TV units. Below is the layout of the living room (18 * 11.5 ft)

On the left of the TV unit is towards dining room and kitchen. This is where the sound is getting diverted, I could hear the sound from this area but at the living room the sound or speech is not clear and makes me increase the volume.

I plan to buy a set of speakers to be installed on the opposite wall of the TV unit, so that the sound is confined to living area with clear voice or speech.

My requirement:

1. Clear sound confined to the living area, I agree certain part will be diverted to other areas, dont mind this.
2. Speakers - Small in size.
3. Occasionally I plug USB for movies (once in a quarter), this is apart from movies at various channels.

My questions:

1. Is it necessary to buy the full set of HT system?
2. Can I buy only speakers, whether receiver is necessary? From going thru various post I understand receiver is a must, am I correct?
3. Like to spend minimal.
4. Any wireless systems or speakers available.

My requirement is minimal to confine maximum sound output to living area.

Need help in buying a system or speakers to meet this.

This TV is used for viewing daily shows, sports and movie.

Below is the TV unit location, with pic of switches for connecting speakers (black and red switches). Is it possible to use these switches for the recommended system or speakers?
