Sony BDP S380 @ INR 5263/-

Hi friends,

I would like to inform you another info I have found on this player.

I have placed my movies with different kind of file formats in thier respective folder.
I have connected my 500GB Seagate hard disc through the front USB port of Sony bdp380. While browsing it shows files under the folder is corrupted. But if its in a single folder, its opening flawlessly. I have also tried placing a file seperately in a USB drive and tried it played without any error. I found some xvid files are not playing.

I have a asus mini oplay, so it not that much problem for me in playing files. It would be a better option to have media player along with the bdp if you are a movies buff. So there wont be any problem of converting the files. We can use the bdp for playing bdps or dvds.

my bad luck..now days, most of the files i try playing are unreadable. avi, mp4, ts, mkv.
very few are being played. I should have got a media player.

come out of this BDP collector group ,reasons
1.many bdp are not region free so useless
2.monkey like behaviour with usb attchments
3.all players are over priced
4.always u need to get xtra mediaplayer

Buy android mediaplayer with BDrom support E.g. himedia 910A(6k)
hook sata /usb bdrom(1.5k)

Any links??? Because I do not see any for 1.5K. Cheapest Blu-Ray drive I see is for 30$, Including shipping and customs it would not be anything below 2.5-3K for sure....
not if you know tricks...
icc guys give freeship till 500Rs coupons,so shipping is free
customs is too lazy to tax at 1.5k. better declare as 1k :D

for HTPC guys ,china store selling one EXTERNAL BD-r for 34US ,negotiate till 30,declare as gift..Freeshipping!!!

Much as I agree with the statement, it is not always convenient for all.

- Requires a desktop
- Desktop/HTPC must be near to TV (many people have these in different rooms)
- Desktop/HTPC is not as convenient as a stand-alone BDP

At the risk of adding clutter (and being part of the BDP collectors' group), a cheaper/convenient option would be a Region A player + Region B player. I consider this cheaper with the cavaet that HTPC price will be far more than 2 BDPs. And even with a BD-Drive, one will require software to make it region free (again assuming that person buys the original software).
