Sony Bravia 40BX400 LCD shows Maroon/Red Background

Hi friends,

I have had this tv for about 22 months. Since today morning it is showing a maroon/red background while changing channels instead of black. This also affects the picture color/quality while watching gives it a reddish tint where it should be darkish black.

I've tried both the hdmi inputs with different hdmi cables/sources and the issue persists.

1. Any idea why this is happening and how it can be fixed ?

if its within warranty period kindly call customer care
if not kindly check the tv with a qualified technician
seems to be problem in T-COM board

Update....

Hi friends,

Sony technician came home and took the tv to the service center. TV was out of warranty. The fault was found to be COMMON MODE CHOKE COIL. A total of 14 pieces were replaced on the motherboard.

Total Cost : 2117

Probable reason of fault : Moisture

Warranty on the work carried out : 3 months.

I'm overall satisfied by the response of sony customer care services and the tv is back to working in original condition.
