Was speaking to Rajesh Menon who is the business head for Sony DADC. Was telling him forum members were disappointed with the quality of mastering of the old titles by Saregama. So now Sony DADC is willing to appoint a technical consultant for vinyl mastering who can guide them. In case anyone is interested or knows someone who is qualified pl send me a pm

Do you know if Sony can source the best available analogue source for future release? Mastering is second to the source. I would be happy to help in any way possible. Glad that they are listening.

Iam willing on a freelance to work for Sony to bring back analogue sound from the digitized master. Anyone from Mumbai please join so good vinyl recording is done.

Iam willing to offer my service as an end consumer requirement rather technically qualified person. I have done my Hotel Management. We need guys who were in the mastering those days rather than the present generation who are exposed only to digital sound.

Hi,
it is nice to hear they are open to the idea of improving the master. After the success of A R Rahman title we can all initiate a project where we can select an old album and use our resources to create the best possible master. By resources I mean the best quality of that particular LP played in a decent high end setup and the output captured digitally in the highest possible resolution.One person may not have everything so a collaboration amongst members may be needed.I am not sure how practical it will be but if we can put our efforts together I believe something can be done. I am personally very much eager to recreate Dil Padosi Hai LP

The wish list is pretty large individually. for the public it goes by demand thats the issue with music. Sony could share how is their sales of the recently released LP records. This could induce better mastering for the growing demand...........

very encouraging to see that they are serious about sound quality. they must ve realized we are buying music at an all time high price. if they fail, i can see another shoot up in old original lp prices.

I'm glad to know that Sony is now awake on the quality. I'm willing to volunteer to kick off any project. Though my set up is mid fi, I can collaborate with other FM to bring back analogue sound.

Always wondered why they didn't use old but good quality vinyl as opposed to digital master copies for vinyl reissues.

That's awesome!!! Thanks so much. I also have a large collection and if there are specific titles that are needed I could arrange delivery to India. Did you get any info about how they would create new masters from the LPs?

I am based in London and a long time audiophile with my own collection of vinyl and mastering software - I released ten Bollywood CD albums in the early nineties and was the first to introduce the concept of "Hindi - Dance" Remixes in the UK ( anyone remembers "Kumar Sanu - Catch The Rhythms"
Vol 1 ?) and have access to top mastering houses and engineers - the best there are! Let me know if I can help! :clapping::yahoo:
