Folks! I have been using a LCD projection tv for the last about 4 years. And today my TV stopped working with a pop sound!! Somewhere vaguely remembered a section in the manual talking about some lamp replacement. Luckily the manual was still around and I could find it - That saved a Rs. 1000/- service visit by the Sony service!
Now I have removed the projector lamp (pretty easy) and the lamp indeed has gone (could see pieces of glass inside and the filament is blacked out.
Now looking for a replacement! Would be getting in touch with Sony Service tomorrow. Anyone has any idea on the price - on the international websites it ranges upto 200$.
