Veteran actor, poet ,writer , our onscreen Feluda passed away. He started a new era with Satyajit Ray and he gave a new dimension to Bengal theatre. A born fighter but couldn't win his last war against covid. He was hospitalised after having been affected by Corona and died today. Bengal mourns his demise. RIP FELUDA

Yes, he was a celebral actor. He had a wonderful capacity to play any character and really our childhood on screen Apu and Feluda. What Toshiro Mifune was to Akira Kurosawa, he was to Ray. Ray-Soumitro duo gifted us so many gems. From Apu to Udayan pandit, to khidda . He threw a challenge to Uttam Kumar in Jhinder Bandi. Though a negative character who can forget Mayurbhahon? Not merely a thespian soumitro was a versatile genius with his dramas, compositions , recitations and of course his political ideology.
