Capt., I stand corrected... How did I confuse a Kef for the famous Klipsch horn sound?

I thought highs were pronounced with Klipsch speakers when played with Dared. I felt Dared sounded more warm with Cadence.

-John.

Yes John they were warm but did not loose detail at highs. Most tube amps I have heard (very few to be honest) had always lost the details ln the pluck of an individual guitar string or the sound of the fingers pressing against the strings and the frets or a bell at the end of an orchestra. Dared was pretty good in that respect.

Klipsch (I hate them , and have a bad past with them) colours music to crazy levels. Some one in the forum had mentioned that klipsch makes even a bass drum sound metallic. I guess they are suited for hard rock and heavy metal.

They are very sensitive though. I guess that is the reason they brought it , to pair with low wattage tube amps.

Rajiv, what an interesting article "God is in the Nuances" is - thank you. Part of the initial hypothesis is what i was referring to in another post on 100k DACs earlier this week. I agree with some of what he says and often when you think he will go one way, he goes another....

Well said, Staxxx

Hi,

Here you go. The LS3/5A response is not flat. :) But boy does it sound good.

Rajiv,

Thanks for the links. I will go through them next week when I have more time and get back to you. I'm also going to compare the LS3/5A FR with other "neutral" speakers to see how big the differences are.

A wonderful collection indeed!

Hi george,

I think it is "Kurukurukannae" song from the album "Couple's Retreat" by AR Rahman.

N.Murali

I think the specific song that George was impressed with was from a tamil movie. A very bluesy one with a few malayalam lines in it(?). I could be wrong though...

Hey Ajinkya,

Thank you very much for your very kind words. It was a pleasure meeting you and discussing the various topics that we did. Hope your stay in Chennai is fruitful and pleasant, weather permitting ofcourse...

Aaromale from Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya?

The only other bluesy song from Tamil film music I can think of is 'Adiye' from Kadal by Rahman!

Kef LS50 with Quad II combo in the meet.

It performed really well with good mids and highs with required bass which can pull the budding audiophile to buy it.

KEL LS50 with Quad II and Bryson Dac - YouTube

Sorry to bring up this thread, but could somebody tell me what is the music that is playing (in the video)? I'm completely blank on classical, and this sounded mesmerizing!
