I have a very robust LG MW Oven model MC 804 AAB. Lately its beeper volume went below audible level. I do not want to call a mechenic to fix. Can any one of my friend reading this suggest what could have gone wrong and if it requires a change of the beeper (Speaker)?

This post was in the wrong section. I have created a new thread and moved it here.

Cheers

that is surely an attractive topic of the post. I was forced to look into it. Can't help - but I thought speakers for oven!!!

I thought they had microwave ovens that actually speak to you - "boiled your milk", "fried your meat", "burnt your rice", etc. Some of them even have a chuckle at the end when they do something naughty? :)

Jokes aside if any one can help the OP, it will be great.

Cheers

Speakers for a wardrobe I can understand - some people like loud clothes.

But speakers for an oven - loud food?

Well U dont want to BUT u may have to get that mechanic over & have it fixed.
Actually something similar must have occured in my Eureka Forbes water Purifier and that DISGUSTING CHIME is almost not audible and I couldn't be happier:yahoo:

Venkat I was going to suggest the OP to take a line out from the 'robust' MW to a HIGH POWERED amp & speakers and then maybe we could take it from there:D maybe even improve the 'tone' of the beep of the MW.

Then I thought the 'Mods' may find this humour in bad taste!!!!

maybe our man is looking for a more neutral sounding stage that presents the dishes as they are!!! No added colouring etc! Bigger soundstage to announce huge dinners etc!

ROTFLOL ! ...i love HFV.

The problem is genuine but i was Harpoon struck (*dont guess where!) after reading the post, with colleagues wondering the reason of the lil laugh i had.

The need is genuine, but the way the title is worded is...well....singularly arresting!

Complete Microwave Oven Troubleshooting, Repair and Information

but this might turn out more expensive than calling lucky goldstar tech person-

other than that these buggers have capacitors with lethal voltages - and OP might suddenly find himself at the lotus feet.

so while the need for DIY to get the oven beeping strongly again may be beating strongly in the chest of the OP - better that the heart does not stop beating altogether!

so OP is advised to desist and seek a more honorable way of committing hara-kiri:)

What is the rms power rating of your oven? I would recommend Nordost or Kimber speaker cable to connect the speakers (of course others will say cables do not matter). Also I think adding a preamp in the chain will drive yor oven better. To my ears full rangers sound best with ovens (any argments about that?). And dont forget the source ..... :)

:ohyeah::ohyeah::ohyeah:
On behalf of all the HifiVision'ers

PS: more seriosly, try the button sized speaker that comes PC motherboards for POST beeps. Else your oven manufacturer will have a spare...

Dont you mess with him, this thing has a rotating 10rpm Glass Platter inside to make an Italian Pizza out of your loved vinyls :licklips:

Hmm, maybe i should have also made some similar heading for my thread, then would have got so many comments to... alas! Next time.....

I ought to flog myself and all you jokers. :)

Would someone please, please, please give a serious answer to the OP's question? If the answer is from a guy in Chennai, he gets unlimited Beer in my club.

Cheers

(1) See if your oven has beeper volume settings. Some ovens do have them.
(2) Findout beepers location and see if its opening is not obstructed.
(3) I am not sure but I think it must be having piezoelectric speaker. Piezoelectric material do loose their power over time with heat.
So better replace it from mechanic.

-- posting your query in "foodvision" thread would have helped immensely :)

damn I have an HTIB microwave, it even has a toaster! Imported from the US hence needs a step down. I should have gone for separates. Well I got an OTG too some time back.

what about placing a neumann tube microphone before the oven......
seriously get in touch with the LG service to get the speaker/ peizo changed if its damaged.........do not play with a microwave oven yourself or you may get cooked...........;)
