Hi All, I have a Yamaha RX-V675 Receiver, one of friend bought it from US.

Now I need your suggestions on speaker package for this receiver.

My room size is 14ft*10ft. I used to hear musics/songs most of the time and so I bought it. But I don't have much knowledge in speakers. My budget would be around 25k.

Please suggest me some nice speaker packages.

Also advice if I can use any of the below speakers for my receiver.

1000 W 5.1Ch Blu-ray Home Entertainment System J5130 | HT-J5130HK/XL | Samsung India

Don't bother with Samsung. Get a pair of bookshelf speakers, plug it in, enjoy for a while, save money and get the rest of the speakers. 25k is too low for a budget.

Hello Jp,

Congratulations on the new receiver.

It's a very good piece, however, the set of speakers that u have chosen will not do any justice to the receiver, not even close.

Since ur prime usage is music, I wud suggest u to go for front speaker as of now and can add sub woofer later if u find bass to be not enough.

For music u certainly dont need the complete 5.1 package as long as video doesn't kick in.

At a budget of 25k u can find a wide range of speakers with +/- 3-5 k depending upon how u negotiate. Few of them are as follows

- Dali zensor 1/3 : 22k/29.5k
- Polk RTIs 1/3 : 18k/25k
- wharfadal 220/225 : 19k/27k (hifimart price)

Plz audition as many speakers as possible and decide for urself..

All the best and enjoy ur search....!!

Hey congrats on your purchase.

You can not use those speakers u mentioned from samsung as the power rating is very lower than your receiver's min power. I meant samsung speakers are rated 2 or 3 ohms where as your receiver has min 6 ohms.

As people mentioned go with baby setups like starting from bookshelves for the time being.

Thank you for the reply & suggestions

Hi all, but I dont want to go with baby setup initially and buy full set of speakers after sometime. I would like to go for full 5.1 setup. after your comments I understood that 25k is low budget for 5.1 speakers. So now I planned to increase the budget bit more to around 35 to 40.

Also one of my colleague suggest TAGA 606 speakers, where he can get it from parrys grey market. Can you all please comment on this speakers.

And Thank you all for your time and valuable suggestions. Thanks Kumar for your exact reason for those samsung speakers ohms difference...

Look at these packages near your budget. ask for discounts. The most important thing is go to the dealers and audition them for yourself. Never hurry.
If your usage will be mostly music as described in your first post, I would suggest not to go for a 5.1 system. For 40k , you can get some decent bookshelf speakers like Dali zensor 3, Wharfedale 225, and loads others. 5.1 comes into play if you are into movies and TV shows. But as music mostly is two channel only you do not need the rest of the speakers.
BIC America DV32-80 5.1 Speaker System - Avada Classic Shop
JBL CINEMA 500 (5.1)
Home Theatre System : Taga Harmony inMOVE 5.1 Home Theater Package
Home Theatre System : Morel Primo 5.1 Home Theatre Package

Again audition and decide.

Okay. Will check. My usage will be 60% music 40% movies as i get time to watch movies only at the weekends.. that's why thinking of 5.1.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
