friends,need a suggestion.
is this method possible..
I do have a onkyo 3400,this htib avr dont have any pre outs..only speaker level outputs....
now suppose
I use this outputs into a
speker level to line level converter and

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA05W0195127

connect the line level outputs to a power amp in and then connect
power amp outputs to powerful speakers............
so that i dont have to upgrade this avr to drive power hungry speakers....power amp is say the lowest model from emotiva which is like
5 ch...and 80w per ch...and around 400 usd...around 25k say...

http://shop.emotiva.com/collections/amplifiers/products/upa500

and a mid end avr is also around or over 40k...minimum..still i belive much underpowerd than this emotiva lowest end one...

now this weakest chain link this speaker level to line level converter..will they spoil total quality of audio....

also please suggest if there is any power amp which accepts speaker level input as well at this budget?

please pardon me if i sound total stupid in this idea....i am just a noob in av world

thanks friends

is that converter made for specific product??

or will work universally?

^ thanks
but my main aim is
to keep the present pre out less avr....and driving powerfull speaker...with a budget power amp 25k say...i dont want to discard this avr...

why not more sensitive speakers?
I heard a members 2.5+2.5 watt amp ( btw his earlier amp was 8+8 watts) and man - that is best sound I heard!!
BTW both amp and speakers were very expensive but I am giving you an example!
BTW do your amp has poweredsub provision?
go step by step I feel steps should Be ( members please help)

1) Big Subwoofer
2) front Floorstanders
3) Matching Centre

BTW I feel best is to go for Better AVR- Consider landing cost of emotiva - or If someone is getting it - then it is ok.....

thanks a lot hemant for your concern
I am not doing this right now...:D
yes sensitivie speakers are of course better option...
i checked onkyo stock speakers are only 83db/w/m...
so a 89 db speaker will smoothly make the load 25 % at the same volume level considered...
.obviously better no doubt..

i am actually asking for the workability of this kind(with power amp) of set up.
has any member did this...or know someone who did this..so that i can gather some knowledge before buying this kind of set up...

one thing also...avrs cant match power amps in power demand...its pretty okay.avr has many tasks and so space constarint etc...where as in a power amp..it has onely one dedicated job...to meet power demand...

if you consider this following case...
a maratnz pre out avr say 65k
a 80w/ch, 5 ch wala ,power amp say............35k

1 lakh....total
but a 1 lkah avr cant feed as much power as this set up can do..also avr is unloaded always..good health of avr always even in highest loads...peace of mind completly while incresing sound..
whats your opinion...:o
