Hi All,
I am new to this forum and would like some feedback on speaker selection for my sy~system. I have a living room 13' x 15' x 11' height. I listens to all types of music especially new age and jass. Classical and big band sound comes next before country and pop. I have accuphase e406 fed by marantz cd6004 and driving a pair of polk LSi m703. I am looking at getting a pair of floor standers as I am not getting a good wide airy sound from the 703s. Thinking of the following: polk lsi m705, ae radiance 2 or 3 and wharfedale optus 2-1. Need expert advice here. Thanks in advance for all (positive or negative) feedback. By the way I have the marantz ki pm pearl lite driving a cheepo tsi 100 which will be replaced by the LSi m703s for my study room fed mostly thru computer connection.

The solution isn't just a floorstander, it's selecting a good speaker, regardless of bookshelf or floorstander. An accuphase connected to a polk audio is like putting a 75000$ luxury sedan engine into a 25000$ honda civic.

Dump the LSi's asap, look for something worthy of the Accuphase. What is your budget?

IMO, you should feed your CD6004 in to KI Pearl and then into the LSi's.

Belated congratulations on Accuphase E406. It's old but it's gold. Start saving up, for, you can build a high end rig around that machine. Look at good speakers for them. You are in Singapore, an audio heaven. Keep an eye open on pre-owned market if you are not allergic to pre-owned. Keep an eye on DynAudio, Eggleston, Focal. DynAudios will give you a great sound with your amp, so will Eggleston. If you can lay your hands on Dali Helicon, give that a shot as well. And of course you have usual suspects from British heritage; ATC, Harbeth, ProAc etc.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
