Hii audio Gurus,

planning to take Denon 1911. Wants some suggestion about sub; considering the following constraints:

1. Room size- 12 x 16

2 Movie: music- 70:30

3. budget: under 20k

I have listen to Polk 110W somewhat liked it (almost finalised!) but would like your opinion about wharfedale sw 150. Polk sounded very tight and punchy. Any other option- Monitor, Klipsch, sonodyne etc?

y dont u try for velodyne, def tech, hsu uls-15 if these are all not ur budget then go for wharfedale sw 150sub,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Thanks,

but will sw 150 do justice to movies and music both. You are discarding pilk 110w altogether?

wharfdale 150 was selling for roughly 18k (or even lesser) sometime ago. maybe prices have gone up.

I dont think there are any velos in this price range. u should also check out polk dsw500. i think its just a teeny weeny little bit above your budget.

Thx

but as i pointed out , i need a sub which can be used for movies and music both (although more of movies).

I think by Christmas time new Polk wireless ready subs will be available here.
DSW 550wi etc.

But tell me which out polk 110 or wharfe sw 150 shoul have more punchy and thumping bass (speciallly for movies)

Hi bluescorp,
If your search this forum, you will find SW 150 being recommended for music and movie both. The 110w polk is not considered at par with SW 150. However some have recommended the Polk DSW 600 above the SW 150. Choose whichever suits matches your Front speakers and your budget.
Regds,

Not me , I remember seeing a Jamo sub on sale in For Sale by owner section by our forum member Santhol2 ..... :)

Guys, thx,

tell me if i shortlist 9.5 (which i liked v much) will it be necessary to have a sub? If yes which one (below 20k)?

Hi,
I went to Vipul Audio, chennai and check with Sonodyne Roar 210 sub. It is good for movie and music. They have another one model Roar 108. It is ok... but not too good.
I am planning to go for sonodyne 210 or wharfedale sw 150.
Guys please guide me.
And let me know the best price in chennai.

Thanks

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
