Subwoofer on its side?

Hi guys, I have the Sony IV-300 home theater system. Just had a question regarding the subwoofer - can I keep the subwoofer on it's side, lying down?

Just for reference, this is the one

Just wanted to know if this can damage the subwoofer in any way, or if there's anything else I should know, since I have a space problem, and doing this solves a big problem for me!

I guess it's okay if you have the driver facing down, rather than on the side.

Nope, you can't have it facing down without having some 2 to 3 inch clearance from floor.

Sorry, don't think I was clear earlier. I meant, putting it on it's side like this. I want to push it beneath the cabinet on the right there.

no issues......go ahead....put some carpet material for the floor so the side does not get scratched with vibration
