Hi, I have a 5.1 Kenwood speaker system with a TRIAD Dual ported subwoofer going down to 20Hz, with a Denon 1610 AVR. My front towers go down to 40hz. I have 2 options :

-LFE : set all speakers to SMALL and crossover at 80hz, as recommended.
-LFE + MAIN : set fronts to LARGE, crossover fronts at 60hz.

LPF is set to 120hz on the AVR. However, I also have a manual LPF control on the subwoofer. I understand this needs to be set at highest or shall I set this lower to 80hz?

Thanks a lot!

I would go with Option 1. Why not run the Audyssey?

Yes, you got it right.
I Always run Audessey and then further tweak it post calibration. Also option 1 is what I have been using over the years.

But after doing a lot of reading, apparently option 2 really works well if you have towers that can go down pretty low. Many also say LPF should be almost the same as the lowest your main speakers can go down to, while some say it should be the highest.

Thanks for your reply!
