Check which formats are supported by your HDMI card by Right click volume control taskbar icon>Playback Devices> Right click HDMI audio>Properties> Supported Formats. Then you need to set your player to bitstream instead of sending pcm signal for formats like DTS, Dolby Digital etc.

AFAIK 4850 does not support bitstreaming. Thats the sad part.

For most use, pcm is enough. But if you need hd audio support then upgrade your GPU.
