Hi Friends,

Firstly hope everyone had a Great Start to the New Year...!!!

As we now have better and better high end Subwoofers being available in our country i'd like to start a thread for SubEQ systems. Some high end subwoofers have a inbuilt EQ system but most lower and mid end ones dont.

Yes these are expensive and initially after you buy a subwoofer it comes as a surprise to you who are less aware that you'd have to buy one of these to improve subwoofer performance in you respective HT rooms.

As per what i have read on the web these can greatly help improve the bass performance depending to the room.

I'd like to know how many of us have inclination/intention to get and try one of these Sub Eq hardware.

Maybe some of us here already have one of these... I'd like to invite them to share their experiences as to how they have benefited from a Sub EQ so that others can contemplate on this....

the velodyne one works better than the svs eq1 , because it shows you real time effects of moving the sub around the room and helps you locate the nulls and the highs , the svs is based on the audyssey calibration system and as it has been seen that no matter how much the audy ppl boast about their system it does not give you good results with their room calibration system for the subwoofers . The only thing which works good for the lower frequencies are the parametric eqs and thats why ppl have good views for the sms1 or the cheaper behringer feedback destroyer/parametic eq as a subwoofer eq

there is a white paper submitted on parametric eqs for bass correction please read this paper submitted by todd welti and plz also have a look at the refrences at the bottom of the article.
