Allthough vintage models where built to last a life time especially in the case of stereo pre/power/integrated amp and stereo recievers which inherently offered a straight forward design and less of todays fancy stuff in short - just too much electronics in between -.
With this picture natuarally they live up to be utterly reliable.
In the case of AVR some brands still hold the reins while some breakdown often. This however depends on the condition and usage of the gear.

If you don't believe I own a pair of Technics speakers made out from 1979.

You must be looking for this one (AV-1)
nak-AV-1

check out the reviews at audio-review.com and forum.ecoustics.com

BTW how much is the asking prize for it. Is it in perfect working condition? Remote(AV-1RC)?? User manual??
It was introduced from 1992 with $1000 MSRP. A very potent unit if in good shape (120watts x 5).

thank you.
