Tapped horn sub on the anvil.

interesting. if done well 2 of these in the corners of a decently sized hall and the 25-80Hz SPL is good and even
at slightly under 3 feet they could look good and perform great
Thanks for Sharing !

I picked up this driver a while ago(from Kevin Haskins at diycable before he shut shop) and it was gathering dust waiting for the opportune moment, which finally arrived. The driver is now available again, and, though not big, is a very well regarded performer.

Yes the pricing looks good and they are trying to get a good deal on shipping. Its a well regarded driver, with good user feedback. I may be able to give some feedback by early next week on how well it performs, given its size and the small enclosure.

Nice. Build two and put on opposite walls, will give a nice smooth bass.

I have some overseas travel this week so the project will take a little longer to complete than envisaged. I hope it is done by the end of the month. I have only a single driver at this time so two is ruled out for now, but let's see how this turns out first!

Thanks, the cabinet work started 6 months ago and then the rest of it happened after that. I also needed some weatherstrip to seal the back and make it airtight, which came last week from the US.

My projects typically have a 12 month time frame, but this one took longer because of my vintage Altec build which took precedence. Normally I dont try to hurry these along because there are other systems already up and running, and new projects are merely incremental. Along with that project I had various other things which came along needing time and attention-a couple of racks, a gainclone amp,an assembled desktop, and the like, so you have to forgive me on this one!

Oh...mine was just an observation on the happy coincidence...most of us would be happy even to do half of your DIY stuff at double the time...

Will post pictures shortly, but hey welcome to come and audition it when you have time! You will be surprised at how well such a small driver performs-at least I was.

Regretfully the process of uploading images here requires me to jump through many hoops, so I will do it another time. Many files have to be deleted before I can upload, too much work at this time.

OKAY, will be waiting for those photos.
The design concept is quite interesting to me, although did not understood the meaning of "tapped horn sub".
Need to search now.

Giveh all the restrictions, I have found it easier to use an image hosting
site like imageshack.

I am travelling today and will return tomorrow night,, can try something next week. In any case the finished sub looks identical to the drawing in the link on the first post. Sound is very good, and in terms of bang for the buck it is probably the best sub that I have built so far.

Ive connected the sub to my TV to improve the LF. All in all a good investment. BTW looks like the Gearheads group buy for the Exodus driver didnt pan out.

A beautiful, well-constructed speaker with class-leading soundstage, imaging and bass that is fast, deep, and precise.
