Tata Sky DVR Repair Needed

I have my Tara Sky DVR for the past 3years, last Sunday it suddenly went blank. I can see green power indicator on the Tata Sky box but no display on my TV. My 2nd Tata Sky Box in my bedroom is working fine so that means the signal is reaching it.
I want to know if we could try repairing the DVR ourselves or at least check.
Request someone to help me on this please or do I take the DVR to a electronic repair shop?

instead of repairing it.. call tata sky. they will replace it with a new box for 300 rupees and will also give 3 months additional warranty on the replacement box. even if you get it fixed at an electrician. it will be more of less the same amount.

i mentioned 300 rupees for box out of warranty. i got my Tata Sky HD box replaced a few months back when the old one went bad. they replaced for 300 rupees and my box was out of warranty.

HD box ..non recorder. it might be 100-150 bucks more for a recorder. you can check " poochne me kya jaata hai " tata-sky jhinga lala...

They would either offer you a used one @300-500 Rs. or new one at the latest market/offer price.
You will have to decide.

Thanks to theironhorse and Chayan, got the HD+ box replaced for ?500 and luckily got a brand new one as the technician said many even get old repaired ones in exchange. Once again proved that this is the best forum to be on
