Tata sky Hd is availabe with a dealer in aundh, pune. but now I am very much confused whether to go for it or to wait for the new one whch is about to launch. The dealer said the news about the new HD+ is in the air since last 6 months but there is no authentic update from tata as of yet. May be he was just trying to sell me his existing stub.

Go for it if you want to enjoy HD, they have been telling for a long time that new box, is getting launched, no one knows when it will happen.

Any idea what is going to be changed in the new box? been waiting for it since a month now, got the new samsung led but its just not worth watching SD on it. at the same time dont want to miss out on the new features the new box will come with.

I'm in the same boat , dont wanna miss out the features new set will come with... current one has 20 channel limit to save favorites , thats annoying ... Got LED TV a yr back

The price he quoted me was 2600/- for the unit and 30rs per month hd package. Did I mention that this is the last unit he has with him

If this is the last unit, you should not waste time and pick it up. The pricing is right, i also paid the same when i got my HD box in June this year.

Also there is another catch for waiting for the new box, it may come with recording facility and may cost around 5k, how many will be willing to pay that much amount for a hd box, specially if you don't want the recording feature is something to think about.

So think on those terms and take a call. Many people in the forums are looking for one,i am sure if you don't buy you will get ample requests to buy the same for some fellow member in the forum.

U ARE LUCKY THAT HE is asking 2600 for last peice..

as per the my research i picked up last or second last peice from hyd...

for which i was asked 800 premium and i got it for 500 premium after bargain..

go for it as we do not have hd+ on papers as of now.. just like concept or confidential news..


go for it.. what the sense of HD+.. u can rather download HD programs from torrents and watch in much better quality..

No, I couldn't get it. until I made up my mind, someone had already picked it up. Tried couple of other dealers, none of them had it in stock.

Think about it. They already have the technology and the box ready. The only thing I am not sure is the production numbers of these boxes. And with the WC starting on 19th and the IPL following it, they'd definitely have to launch it to cash in on the WC hype. Definitely around Jan 10th - 15th.

I feel they will launch only HD PVR and will try to stuff them down the customer's throat. The costing for the same definitely would be over 5k.

I am still waiting for them to show the movies now hd channel, the broadcast has started couple of days back, but no news when it is coming on TS.

Also looking forward to watch the world cup in HD.

Just got off the phone with tatasky customer care. He said he did not have any dates for the launch but said it will atleast be two months before that launch the new HD and plus boxes.

Next time after your first call, hang up and call back another agent and see if the time-line matches what the first agent says. They basically say what they want as they don't need to give any commitment.

For all you know it will be launched today and the CSR have no idea

If customer care doesn't know the rerelease date how come the dealer know the dates,they just bluff with their own dates...
Dont get disappointed by hearing what dealers says,their words must be written in water...
