TATA SKY or Videocon ???

Hi all,

PLease help me to find the best HD-DTH in chennai ?

I need good quality as well as service...


I m confused between TATA SKY HD or Videocon DTH

TATA SKY anyday!!!.............videocon still does not have support for 5.1 audio which is one of the main components of enjoying a true HD experience.

Thanks a lot aakashr... But Videocon offers more HD channels and more SD channels. They promised me to give 5.1 channels if the movie is capable.

Do we have any idea about the clarity ???

Clarity remains the same for HD across all operators. All video is broadcast in 1080i. what does differ is the 5.1 audio support which videocon lacks. If you have a 5.1 home theatre or intend on getting one in the future then definitely you would need 5.1 to enjoy your HD movies.

If 5.1 audio is not of relevance to you, then go ahead with videocon. Also remember 5.1 is dependent on the channel. Not all HD channels are broadcast in 5.1 audio. So think about your priorities and then decide.

Yeah. I m getting Onkyo 3500 or denon 1312XP in a week's time.... The customer care ppl promised me that 5.1 will be available if the movie is telecasted in 5.1....

Go for tata sky HD, in videocon the interface and big logo i dont like.u can try Airtel instead. Just check both the offering and decide your self. And as TS already offering 5.1 audio. Dont depend on videocon that they will start the 5.1 audio,let them offer that and after that you can decide, TS's service is superb,i was a SD tatasky user and recently HD user.i must say it makes your life Zhinga laaaa...laaaa......:yahoo:

Since you are getting a 5.1 HT system, I strongly suggest you to go with an operator which already has support for 5.1 audio. I'm sure you can work something out on the channel packs they offer.Do not rely what videocon says..........they can sell you anything to get business. Airtel or Tata Sky, both support 5.1 audio...........take a pick!!!

I have 1 TS HD+, 1 HD stb, 1 SD+ and 1 SD stbs in my home in mumbai, CUstomer care is very good on TS, less no of HD channels is the only constraint with TS, otherwise no company can beat TS, i also have 1 Videocon and 1 Airtel installed at my site, Videocon is cheaper, but Tatasky Rules

Tatasky is very good.. HD channels are better

I have the tata sky HD. Great quality 1080i picture and surround sound makes it my pick between the two. Btw you should also check airtel which gives you more channels.
