Top-tier Indian Loudspeaker Brands

I heard some models of eight audio in the Hyderabad What hifi show, just before the pandemic in 2019. They sounded good but nothing stood out particularly. They use to have showroom in Gachibowli area of Hyderabad, not sure if they still do.

I felt they are decent HT speakers mostly. But not great for 2ch.

Usually when people make open source models, they sound "correct" as measured. Nothing more, Nothing less! Most of the time, they may even sound better than equally priced branded speakers coming through retailers because of cost savings. Original speaker designers take these kind of designs and learn from them and take them much further. That is when "special products" are born. But it is good to know "eight audio" exists as an option for high quality speakers.

My question is that wharfedale and other brands except for Focals are manufacturing their speakers and drivers in China. What will it take for them to similarly manufacture inside India?

It was a 3way with two bass drivers - tall and thin. They were playing some noisy movie soundtrack. I asked them to play music and it was underwhelming. For movies, it was great.

The model Gema has one 12 inch bass, One 4 inch mids and One soft done tweeter. It was a good speaker which they used in some audio expo in 2024 along drivers of SB Acoustics. That specific model is good one.
