Understanding Spikes!!

Hi!!

I am using PSB image T55 speakers with spikes. the speakers are placed on a synthetic carpet.

The spikes have penetrated the carpet and they are in contact with cemented floor. Is it suppose to be like this?
Can someone shed more light on spikes?

Yes. This gives stability to the speakers which could otherewise be resting on the spongy wobbly carpet.

Hi Sumit

You should have used a spike shoe to protect your carpet . Try to get some Metal coins from the hardware shop and place it below the spikes .

Hi Sumit,
Apart from mucking up your carpet there is no problem. Actually as Unleash said this way the speakers have a firm footing. I tried putting metal discs (try old Rs5 coins) under the spikes as i too had a carpet but the speaker was always wobbly so i too just put the spikes on the carpet which naturally went thru the carpet and onto the floor. No issues at all.
