Hi Guys,

Starting a separate thread where the projector owners can share their experiences on the UPS (make/rating) that they are using for running their projector and also what other uses can be made for UPS when the projector is not being used.

To share my experience, I recently ordered Microtek 800 VA UPS and it DOES supports my Acer 5370 model. I switched off mains deliberately while running the projector and it ably supported the projector without getting conked off.

My usage of the projector is only on the weekends thus the UPS is not getting used for any other purpose. I do make sure to charge it for a while before using the UPS with the projector.

Do share your views.

Thanks,
Vishu

I always wanted a UPS for my projector (though it is an LED PJ and does not need cooling time) for undisturbed viewing while the genset comes on after power cuts, but I have not invested in one because of the thought that since UPS line is not sine wave, it may damage the PJ, or at least the power supply adapter of the PJ.
Still looking for suggestions if using a UPS for PJs are safe. Please comment.

I have a Microtek sine wave (not sure if this is pure sine wave or something else) for the entire home and projector is on the same line. It works without any issues. I have changed a setting at the back of the UPS which makes the UPS kick in faster during power failures. The downside to this setting is that the ups may kick in for voltage fluctuations too - that's why it is off by default. I haven't had any issues at all and i have watched movies for a long time after the power has been gone. No issues at all.

I cant and wont take the risk ..... I purchased Microtek Online UPS, this is a UPS and a power conditioner both.
2KVA, for my entire A/V equipment, not just projector..... This unit is then connected to 1.5KVA Microtek Sinewave inverter. Which is backed up by 1.5KVA LPG HONDA genset.

So when the power goes off, and there is a trip in the inverter, my online UPS takes up all the load smoothly and I dont even know the power has gone and then after few sec the load is shifted to Inverter. If at all the inverter depleates after say 2-3 hours and electricity is still not up. I switch on my LPG gen set ......for an hour or two. This gives a neat backup of 5 hours ....within which the electricity is almost always back ...... or else I continue with the genset running .. :)

I used a APC BR 1100 CI for my Optoma HD 65 since 2009. Earlier I used to use the PJ only on weekends, but now I do so almost every day. It works fine, good backup, never tripped.

I have an acer h5370bd, and initially bought an APC 800 VA UPS. Somehow it was unable to support the PJ, and hence had to switch to a 1KVA digital brand UPS. Now its functioning smoothly.
@sam9s, how much did you spent for the 2KVA UPS?

Getting some encouragement. Tell me friends, if my LED PJ which is powered by a laptop style 19.6V power adapter will be fine on a normal computer APC home UPS?

Hi FMs,

I am planning for a Microtek online UPS 1 KV for my projector Epson 2030 alone. For my Home theater AVR & Speaker system does my Vguard crystal plus stabilizer suffice the need? Its always good to have an invertor for the whole house but budget not permitting for me as of now.
