Guys,

Before I start, let me tell you that I live in Udaipur, India. Hence only brands like Dulux, berger, Asian paint available. No Goo or other US/UK brands. I also don't have time to import from other geographies as need to finalize this tomorrow itself.

I have bought Benq HT 1075 and it is mounted now. The next part where I am very confused is what paint to apply on wall. Few facts as below -

1. The wall is smooth
2. Screen size is around 100 inches diagonaly
3. I have bought neutral white 3 in 1 from Dulux. This is something between Matt and velvet touch (shiny one).
4. Mainly will watch movies and DTH.

My question -

Should I add some silver powder to this paint ?
Should I apply some other paint altogether ?

Have read a lot about white versus gray versus silver.

But I am still confused on what color and what ratio to go for.

Thanks in advance !
Peace

Congratulations! any particular reason why want to project on wall?

Let me tell you, projecting on a white, grey or light-colored wall, painted with standard latex paint will not give
you the full potential of your projector... no sir, not even close!

Buy a screen if you can afford it... many of us have been trying cheap solutions with a new formula every now and then or so,
but there is still no substitute for a nice branded screen gain matched to the projector.

As far as just using a wall, some info on these threads...

Dear Coolcatric, I am using this method.I have a nuwood screen on the wall,8 feet by 6 feet.initially primer, wood lappam.after that i got a painter to do spray painting talking care not to form any bolbs.first coat is silverpaint after drying ,two coats of matt white.the
screen is very good.Perfect picture .

If you are using for timing being till you purchase a screen, then go for Touch of Grey mattefinish from dulux since grey colour gives better contrast.

I have used them but before that you have to do the wall preparation, first wall primer, then 3 or 4 coats of asian acrylic putty till you get absolutely smooth finish without any dent or scratches, then apply 3 coats of paint with a roller in horizontal way from one end to other....

After this you have do the borders 3inches thick top and bottom, this produces better viewing...

Choice of colour all depends on your room lighting,if its bright then the above method or its pitch dark then off white but the paint should be mattefinish not glossy...

If you still insist on wall then go for SCREEN GOO PAINTS the performance is same as the Projector Screen but for a price...
