I moved to Videocon D2H HD from Sun HD this week; since Sundirect could not replace my repaired STB for the past 1 month. They are running out of stock for HD STB, I think.

The HD PQ is good (almost same as Sun HD) and SD PQ is better in some channels. For all English HD channels I am getting 5.1 Dolby Digital when connected to Yamaha AVR via Coaxial & the SQ is really good.

In videocon HD D2H, when connected to my AVR via coaxial I am getting 5.1 DD sound for most of the HD channels, but no sound from my TV for those channels. I cannot change the audio to stereo in a single click in remote. To receive audio from TV, each time I have to go the menu, settings, enter the code, audio settings & change to stereo from home cinema & save the settings.

Is there any simple way to switch between stereo and home cinema in Videocon HD? Anybody have tried pls. ?

Try the other way around. Set it stereo in settings. Then while watching HD channels,
if u want 5.1, then press the info button and then change audio to DD.

I didn't cancel anything. I have just informed CC (when they called me and informed that I have to wait a little more for replacement of HD STB) that I am no more interested and going for someother DTH. My recharge pack is expiring this month & I will not recharge. Also informed this to their local service dealer (who took away the STB). I am going to send a mail to CC to treat my subscription cancelled. I do not know whether any other procedure to be followed.

hey friends i moved from RDTV to videocon D2h hd yesterday, but i am not able to get 5.1 sound on my onkyo s3500. I am not able to get spdif cable in my town. please suggest me something about this spdif cable. its really sad tat i cant get 5.1 sound over my hdmi cable

Guys , i recently connected my PC 2.1 speakers Logitech z623 to the Spdif audio output using Fiio do3k coaxial/optical to analog r/l converter FIIO-Speaker and the sound quality is definately better when connected to the normal av output . But one annoying problem is that i cannot control the volume of the speakers with the D2H remote . Even if i decrease/ increase the volume level of set top box from its remote the volume output from the speaker remains constant . It is really frustrating since the quality of Z623 is good but it does not come with a remote and i have to manually control its volume levels . Any solutions for this one ?

You are not able to get a spdif cable in Delhi? Sound's interesting. Well there is ebay, flipkart, rediff.....

I am just using one of the audio connector of a RCA cable as s/pdif and it works the same. You will definitely have one at your home.

Don't worry. If you have any component cable (which is bunch of three cables, 1 yellow - dedicated for video and 2 audio - red & white) or a normal video cable (yellow) then just plug your SPDIF (out of d2h) with ONKYO's coaxial input by that yellow one.

Videocon HD box setting:
Menu > Setup > Installation > code 1234 > Box Setting > TV Settings > Audio Output > Home Cinema.

Enjoy Dolby Digital Audio for selected HD Channels through your HT.

Note: In this set up normally you will not get any audio from your TV speaker when the channels having DD audio are running.
To get audio through TV speaker:
press Info > Yellow button > Change English (default) Dolby Digital 2/2 to English (default) 1/2.

Dear friend, i am not from delhi. i purchased this HT from Delhi. I am from a small town. So its difficult to get such cables here.

Hi... But the Vidocon service people whom I spoke told me that even their hd DVR gives 5.1 DD sound through SPDIF only..... I asked her twice and she said that's what they have been told..... Do u own one ??

I spoke to many of them after a difference of day or two , to find out what kind of sound do they stream, 5.1 or stero, and they are driving me crazy every time with a different contradictory answer. So don't trust their info.

Star Plus HD, SIX HD, Star Movies HD, Star World HD, Discovery HD, Colors HD, Zee Studio HD, Sony HD, Star Gold HD, M Tunes HD, Movies Now HD.
