hey guys just receive wall-e blu ray it has 6.1 dts hd master audio and i have 5.1 setup will it play fine without any loss of audio :sad:

i think it wont play the rear center channel other that that it works fine

But There wont be much difference in effect
played Forbidden Kingdom Bluray 7.1 into 5.1
Got Descent Sound from all the channels

Your signature for some reason has no mention of the player. But I guess its a PS3. There should be a setting in the PS3 or your AVR or processor to convert it to 5.1.

i'll try out

i use my dell studio 15 bluray-rom enabled laptop
and i use to bypass the audio that is bitstream the audio
that is my audio is taken and sent to the receiver via spdif and decoding is done by my receiver

The effects sound was upto the mark only buddy

This disc has two sound tracks, one of them is DTS MA HD.

DTS MA HD can not be sent over SPDIF. It requires HDMI cable since SPDIF does not have enough bandwidth.

In this case, PC will decode the audio and send that over SPDIF or will pick up 5.1 DTS track (Non HD). This track can be sent over SPDIF.

It will play fine. The 6.1 is downmixed to 5.1 without any loss of sound.
