Folks , when wall mounting a 32"+ LCD/Plasma

# How much space (inches/cms) is available between the TV back and the wall? Some HDMI or power cables are thick and may not bend easily. Is there enough space for such cables?

# How accessible are the cables ? Does one need to take the TV down from the wall anchor to plug in / replace cables?

# What wall thickness is required for mounting these TVs? Many apartments have 3" room partition walls. Is this thickness enough?

Please share pictures/experiences.

That depends on what kind of mount is used. Cheapest ones are "Fixed" mounts that leave very little space between wall and TV. You have pretty much add every kind of cable that you might need and mount the TV.

On the other end "Swivel" type mounts allow you to move TV forward by a feet to change connections.

"Tilt" type mounts are in between. You can swing lower side of panel by few inches to change connections.

most of the companies gives you fixed types of mounts.. and yes few hdmi cables are think however there is enough space to connect them but that will not be at easy.. either you shud have a good hand to have an idea to connect it.

else you might have to remove tv and connect it .. however most of the tv;s do have side connection for hot swap and at back panel u can connect the cables and leave thm

also how much should be the height at which LCD should be placed from the ground ?

1 .Eyelevel to match with top of the screen ?
2. 6 feet ?

Eye level at the center or a couple of inches below the center of the TV will be ideal IMO.

6 feet? What is that?

Ideal height will be when eyelevel matches with centre of screen...if seating position is much lower, you could consider a vertical swiveled position where the screen faces down with a mild tilt.

The bottom of the TV should be level with your eye when you are sitting on your favourite chair.

Cheers

Reviving the old thread!!!
Looking for a wall mount swivel type for LCD 22" to 26". I want it to be away from the wall, so that plugging/unplugging would be easier.
Can anyone point out the contact details in bangalore?
What will be the cost to look at? (budget - looking for the one which is at lower price that can withstand 22" to 26").
Thanks
