Why not audition both and pick the one that matches ur style? Both have slightly different signature and while at it, try out the 9.2 as well.Its also a very good one and has slightly better bass detail that the 2 mentioned.
Also,Wharfedale SW150 sub goes very well with them.

I recently purchased a pair of Wharfedale Diamond 10.1's and i am really pleased with the sound they produce. I have auditioned both the 9.1 and 10.1 before i made the purchase and all i can say is that both are really good speakers, The only difference i could make out was the 10.1's had better bass (Slightly better). Very transperent sound. But i would suggest you to audition both. These are speakers with exceptional value.

9.1's are rear-ported while 10.1's are front ported, hence cannot be placed too close to a wall.
Keep the placement in your room in mind while finalising between the two. Both are equeally good as others have mentioned and I too felt the same while auditioning them.

Are u referring to 9.1 or 10.1 w.r.t close placement to the wall ? I thought if front ported, it can be placed closed to the wall...

If you are not very particular about Wharfedales, and open to other brands ,try auditioning the Mordaunt Short - Aviano 1 & 2 bookshelves, they will save you the cost of the SW any day. I am using the MS Aviano-2 with Marantz PM6003 amp for the past 2 months and I am fully satisfied with the combo. Other speakers, I would recommend you to audition although priced a little higher are PSB Image B-6 (less than 30k) and the KEF Q300(New Series), they have had good reviews.
BTW the MS Aviano-2 cost me Rs.19.5k and worth every Rs. spent. :licklips:
Also audition as many speakers, before you take a call on the most suitable and ideal pair for you.

Sorry my mistake. Reverse is true. 10.1's are rear-ported.
