Am planning to buy one of the following with either 1912 or 2311 Denon (depending on the speaker):

1) Whardale EVO 50 Signature
2) Quad 22L2
3) Polk RTI A7
4) Q700

Please advice your comments / suggestions.:)

Have you auditioned them? Kindly audition them to understand whether they suit your ears.

Also mention your Budget, Preference between Music / Movies, Room Dimensions, etc..

thanks for the reply, yes I auditioned all except q700...

I have a budget of approx 1 lac +/-

inclined toward the evo 50.

60/40 = music / movies ratio...

15 by 10 feet is the present room, but likely to shift to a bigger place in next 6 months.:)

I was adviced that 1911 won't be apt for evo 50, I should get 2311, is it true ? what would be the price of 2311 ?

Also I would like to 1st buy bookshelves & sub 1st which will go with the Floors I buy, any recommendations ?

had u audition quad22l2?...how did u feel?...dont go for bookshelf+ sub...there is generally synchronisation prob...sub will produce bass early or delay w.r.t speakers..go for floor standers

I assume you will be building a 5.1 system.
It is always better to have all speakers from the same brand (and preferably same series too).
Hence I would suggest to audition and decide on a brand first. Then you can buy BS first and FS later as per own convenience.

That's the first time I've read Quad, Wharfies, Kefs and Polks in the same sentence. IMHO, avoid Polks like the plague...even RTI series which is pretty good as far as Polks go. Among the three, for movies, I would suggest Wharfies or Kefs but overall Quad is better then the others.

Like Kittu suggested, do audition PSB. I would also add Monitor Audio to that list.

Have you tried listening to PSB Image B6 and Paradigm Titan monitor V.6?

yes i was planning to audition also this weekend PSb along with B&W

Anyone knows where I can audition B&W's & Monitor in Mumbai ?

PSB's I know Lakozy keeps, anywhere else ?

thanks guys for the help & suggestions..

Is this true, Can you shed some more light on this ?

an active sub-woofer has its own amplifier...and speakers recieves amplified currenty drivers to separate high n low freq...so amplification of two diff amplifiers(one is Int amp and other is subwoofer amplifier)...so subwoofer has to be bought after demo for exact match

My question was more related to you mentioning about FS speakers have better sync over bookshelfs. So I was a little confused there.

WEnt to Lakozy today, auditioned the Imagine T Towers, pretty good... the T6 are coming next week which I shall audition too...

They recommended to go with the NAD 757 instead of Denon 2311.

Told me price for T tower 1.17 Laks & Nad 97K... surprisingly they quoted 2311 at 70K & said others are selling grey market pieces , the official price is still the same...

your views please.:)

NAD and PSB go well together...they are sister brands...

but as far as AVR's are concerned, you need to look at other features as well...2311 would mate pretty well with PSB so take your call and don't go with just what they say...ProFx are authorized Denon dealers, not grey...

2311 should be 50k close. Not 70.

this is news to me! have been using polk monitor 40Bs with CS1 and 4 rm10 for surrounds with DIY 15" 240W Daton powered sub without any issues for the past 3years.

wiring done with 16Gauze multistrand electric wire from amp to sub and from sub to the fronts. amp onkyo 504. set to no sub, large front speakers, so that the entire sound spectrum goes to the sub where the lower Hz are filtered out and putout by the sub and the remaining frequencies go to the fronts.

no issues!

What is the price for Quad 22L. Is 23L better than 22L. Does anybody have any idea about the price for Quad 23L?
