What should I do with these speakers (AVR advice needed)

PIONEER VSX-521-K is being sold on ebay for 19.6k, I have a 5% discoint coupon so effective price is 18.6k.

How is this deal considering:

* This is grey market product with 7 days exchange/3 months dealer warranty (dealer warranty is useless for me because dealer is Vadodara and I am in Gurgaon).
* This is 110v model but seller is including a 230V to 110V Transformer voltage converter (as mentioned in listing).

I am getting a brand new AVR of Onkyo 3400 (Just the AVR, without speaker) from an Onkyo dealer with bill & warranty.

I am getting it for 17-18k.

Is it a good deal?

If I buy any other AVR, I will have to buy a powered sub-woofer because my existing sub is passive in the mentioned 5.1 speakers set. This Onkyo 3400 AVR can be used with my existing speakers.

In your case, it sounds OK, but u can still bargain. If u can bring the price it further more down, surely it will be a nice deal for u (only in ur case :)).

Oops! It is without speakers. Bargain again. I cant say whether 17k is a good price for the avr alone.

Im not sure if this kind of topic has been discusses earlier, U have a limited choice of going for a AVR that should support ur Passive Sub. So getting the 3400 system AVR is the good way in my opinion. Try bargaining it. If u could get it around 15-16k, u can't go wrong.

make some calculations & see.

Cheers
Siva,

Finally, I have placed an order for Denon 1312 from Amazon.de. :)

Also ordered a basic active sub (Kenwood SW 40).

Thanks to the guys who started Amazon.de thread. :clapping:

Now just my passive sub will be lying useless.

^^^

This Kenwood sub, Denon 1312 & old Onkyo speakers are for my bedroom.

I am happy with the Sub of my Onkyo 5300 for my main setup. :)
