Yes, that's true enough. But these prices were increased quite a while ago. I renewed annual mega pack last Dec and it was already Rs. 200 (for HD) then.

Well we are digressing from the original topic- but yes, I have experienced this on both my STB these past few days.
Had a similar problem a few months ago, but just that once.

TataSky introduced the new TataSky ios/android app which has complete remote functionality, including recording, scheduling and complete program guide.
with ios they have also included TV Everywhere using which you can view all TV channels on the go as well via 3G and the broadcast is not recorded but live. The only thing is its paid with 60rs/month and only available for ios for now.
I tried it to see how it goes ........... my inputs ..
1. Buffering is good, with an 8mbps connection, it start off with the lowest quality and then gradually clears depending on the kind of connection you have, then its smooth and good. very much like how netflix operates. Its not HD per se but good enough to be view on iphone screen.
2. The app is one of the best I have seen, very smooth, responsive and perfectly laid out, plus all remote setting works perfectly, so if you have your STB remote misplaced, no worries use the mobile one (remote is also available for Android)
3. The TV channels are live, that is, it shows exactly the same programme in almost the same time frame as is with the actual TV
3. On the negative side, the TV everywhere is paid and only available for ios, also the channels are not the same as your packages. They have major popular ones covered but, it would have been good if my packages were available on mobile
Over all I was prettry impressed with the app, and hope with time they will refine the same for better experience ...

Thanks for the input Sam. I was looking to check it out too but my recent experience with tata sky has left me feeling so bad towards them, I don't wanna pay a single paisa to them unless it's absolutely necessary. I have tried the app on ipad (except the tv part) and yes, it's pretty decent. Don't think I'll be paying for everywhere tv though since 99% of the times I'm either at office or home. Don't really need tv the 1% of the times I'm not.
I had the same problem yesterday. Assumed it was a one off thing. Restarted the STB and the problem was gone. Just tried it again. No error message now.

Wasn't it Star Cricket HD on 413 & ESPN HD on 414? It seems that they have just been renamed. Thus was bring advertised for last four days or so. Or am I missing something?

413 Star Cricket HD changed to Star Sports HD 1
414 ESPN HD changed to Star Sports HD 2
Similarly channels 405 (Star Cricket) & 406 (ESPN) also renamed to Star Sports 3 & 4.

I think ESPN sold off its rights. That's why the rebranding. Everything is now only Star Sports.

So it's just a rebranding. The JV between Star Sports and ESPN seems to have ended. Whether this is "good" or "bad" or "doesn't matter", I don't know - only time will tell.
But I hate the large logos. Seems like FOX tradition is being rubbed off (all FOX logos are so large and annoying).

Yes they have renamed the ESPN and Star Cricket... They are going the way SKY operates in the UK. They have four Sports channel - Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports 2, Sky Sports 3 and Sky Sports 4. Their equivalents in HD as well. I am optimistic that Tata Sky will also move to the same style of transmission and if that is true.. then we will end up having four movie channels as well like they have in the UK... And that would be amazing !!!
Although I am using Hathway and not Tatasky, I agree wholeheartedly on the Logos on all the 4 SD and 2 HD channels. Just hate the massive logos and the banner advts next to the Logos. Really make HD look cheap and a quarter of screen is opaque.
The Kent banner was covering the presenter's face through most of the preview show. Reducing the size of he logos will make things more elegant.

Is it just me or has anyone also noticed poor picture quality / washed out images on star plus HD today ? for sure, nothing has changed ( in terms of pic settings) on my TV. Mahabharat didn't looked sharp today..

Hate those big logos. The HD1 logo is so big it distracts from watching the main event and adding to that the running advertisement near the logos is very irritating. When we pay so much for the HD content but we still have to put up with this.

We should all write to Star Sports as well as the service provider. TS now also insists on displaying blinking red button asking us to record a particular TV show. Not to mention the huge cross ads right in the middle of the screen.
We are paying to watch programmes and while it is acknowledged that commercial breaks are (mostly) unavoidable,these cross ads are a blatant violation of the rules, which sadly, our TRAI does not seem bothered about. Also the Fox/Star/Zee channels are among the worst offenders
Preferably protest on FB and Twitter as these seem to be the only public forums that large corporations bother about.
Incidently my TS STB has been giving/ displaying that " Disc power up- energy saving mode" display, requiring a re boot every day for these past 4 days. I have just complained to TS, I request others who have the similar problem to also write in.
Mine too, it goes in energy saving mode and says to wait. It works after doing STB OFF and then ON (we can use the disc immediately after doing it). Not sure if it is because of space used, mine is almost 95-97% used. I am using STB from last 20 months and in this period I have recorded lot of stuff and deleted after a watch. Do you think the HDD needs a format (once)?
