Where to buy AVR in Malaysia ?

Hi ppl,

One of my friend is returning from Malaysia this month end... Planning for Yamaha AVR (For my brother)

If i get good deals on other AVR's, am fine with that too... Preference being for Yamaha AVR....

Please provide me a list of webistes, places where we can get AVR.... Also most of the AVR's are made in Malaysia, so i guezz it should be cheaper...hyeah:

In Jakarta, did not have enough time.

But mainly Sony/ Bose sys are available there.

Presently staying in Kuala Lumpur and my advice would be that though the AVR's are manufactured here the price is costlier than India

For Example Denon 4520 is RM 9900 approx INR 2 lakhs
Pioneer Elite LX 87 is RM 9300 approx INR 1.9 lakhs
Arcam AVR 750 is RM 23,000 approx INR 4.5 lakhs

Ok.. One of my fiend who lives there enquired the price for Yamaha RX A 1010 & quoted me 1,900 Ringetts which is approx 37K Indian Ruppes...

Ok, the best time to buy AVR's is in the month of July every year here when we have the AV show wherein you get the AVR's at real good prices

Reviving this old thread...

One of my friend will be visiting Malaysia in May'16, so thought of getting a new AVR as i lost my current one Onkyo 818 in a Lightning strike @home :sad:

Tried reinstating it thru local technician's, no luck couldn't source the HDMI board..

Some features that am looking for in an AVR..

Mandatory feature - Audyssey Mutli EQ XT32 (or) Equivalent

Preferably - 7.2 AVR with 9.2 Pre-out

Dolby Atmos & DTS X Decoding..

I plan to get it only if pricing is real sweet...

Have asked my friend to drop in here desa home theatre sdn. bhd. and collect all the AVR models between RM 2000 - RM 3,000. 1 Ringitt (RM) = Rs 17

Pioneer LX 58 looks a great deal for RM 4,000. But not sure if there is support for DTS : X.. Could someone please confirm..

Not reqd as the appliances there work on 220 - 240V, which is same as India.
