hi all,
I have a Panasonic 42xt50(HDTV) plasma which dth provider should I choose,
requirements : good customer service
picture quality
price not a major issue
my parents would be using that tv same old saas bahu serials, news, sports.
Please suggest me which dth provider should I choose

Videocon HD D2H!!! Max number of HD channels(21+1 3d channel) and customer service is not as bad as Airtel.. TATA Sky has got best customer service as per the reviews but very less # of HD channels.
I did a lot of research and decided go for Videocon... The hardware which comes is pretty cheap but it does its job and thats what matters rite??!!

so u using videocon hd. u satisfied? What about non hd channels in videocon? comparative to ts? hd channels quality equivalent to ts or better or worse?

Ts is best.
one reason....Dolby digital via hdmi..no hassle.
ya thats correct..they dont have have some good hd channels..
like movies now hd..........

so airtel is next good...

d2h do have some issue with DD sound in all hd channles...

pq(hd and sd) in above 3 is very subjective...i mean difficult to differentiate..its okay.

dont ever think of dish....hehe..they used to say 50 hd channels....afterwards changed the language..hd like channels...

I bought Videocon HD connection last week..absolutely satisfied with the PQ..even for SD..

Even I would like to suggest you to go for Videocon D2H. Value for Money at the moment. They are really good in giving hard competition to Airtel and Tata Sky now a days.

I am using Airtel, but they have recently removed ESPN HD and Star Cricket HD from their platform, that confirms they are not at all customer friendly when it comes to their non-sense business decisions !!
Airtel is good quality wise, but customer service may be nightmare for those who are not much tech-savvy!
Videocon D2H is currently having almost all the HD channels available in India and they seem to provide audio-video as it is coming from broadcaster. Not like TataSKy and Airtel who are notorious in screwing the audio quality on most of the SD and HD channels using DRC.

I would never go for DISH HD. Considering, I have owned the SD for over 3 years and had really bad customer support.
The D2H wins my vote for being the most economical package alone with pretty good PQ. The HD Channels are sufficient for every type of user and the recent update brings video recording in Non-DVR STB.

Some genuine problems I have seen with the Airtel HD DTH :
The Package is quite expensive. By quite expensive, it is not worth the money paid. The quality is not that great.
Crappy Airtel Customer Care Support. Their new services are often stagnated with bad support services.
Problem in updates. Airtel did eventually launch the IPTV as the next big thing. But, now they discontinued it due to bad policing and lack of updated support(HD-Support).
They Promise too much, but give too less.

I haven't much used the TS so I do not comment about it. However, one of my friends owns it, and regrets after seeing the D2H.

There is only one thing that I can say about D2H- WOW!

Bought it around a month back. 22 HD channels. Dolby Digital surround sound for almost 14-16 Channels. Even the SD PQ is much better than my crappy DISHTV I used for 3 years. I bow down to their customer service and the ability to record movies on a pendrive on a Non-DVR STB. Amazing Product. I have seen some people having a problem with the brand name.
Hi-Fi Mates, if people like us think about the brand name only, then it is a pretty sad story. Go for it, HANDS-DOWN.

I would suggest anybody and all to go for D2H. VFM overall.

recommend Videocon D2H as i am using it and is much satisfied with the main four parameters...

1) Customer Service
2) Picture quality
3) Audio quality (though through spdif out only for the DD signals..hmm)
4) VFM

if price was not an issue, then which to select videocon or ts? I mean if pq compared of hd and sd channels which among the two have beter
