I am planning to buy a DVD player with up-scaling capabilities. My first question is: Is it the case that any and all DVD players with HDMI are capable of up-scaling?
I have narrowed my choice down to two Philips players: DVP3388/94 and DVP3368/94. My question is whether the video up-scaling capabilities of both are the same? I am asking since there is a difference of about Rs. 1500 between the two players. My main priority is video up-scaling. Support for WMV is not a great priority. (Please don't suggest any other brand)
Next Question: Will I be able to output video to my Dell 22''monitor's DVI port via the HDMI cable if I use a HDMI to DVI cable?
Last question: I am new to this up-scaling funda, so I wanted to know whether an up-scaled video quality will be similar to the video quality on a computer, or will it be better?
Any help will be much appreciated.
