Hi all
Looking for speaker cable for stereo setup. I like little warm sound with good bass. I came across below cables. Invited recommendations from exert FMs. I could not find AWG for all cables. All are in price range of 150-300 Rs / meter:
1. Belden 8477 12 AWG - Tinned coated
2. Koltz LY225T - 50x0.25
3. Koltz LY240T - 225x0.15
4. DAC SPK 14 AWG

Welcome If any other brand/option you would like to suggest.
My location is Hyderabad hence you can suggest any walking shop as well

Thanks

Warm sound with good bass reminds me of Mr Murthy cables. Since you are based in Hyderabad you can try his cables. I have used them and they describe the sound you are after. Try it and see if it fits your sound preference.

YMMV :)

These just came at top of my mind.
Basically you are looking for copper based cables. They give a warmer sound. You can use any good copper cable to get desirable results.

In fact the finolex option mentioned about too is copper if I guess right.

Also which interconnect you are using? I'm my personal experience I found swapping interconnects to be more effective option to tweak sound. Just another way of going about it.
Any particular reason you are considering speaker cables first?

Hope this helps you in some way.

Cheers!

Also I like the fact that you asked

Which cable is good for me?

So it is really You who has to LISTEN and decide. If possible see if some FM in Hyderabad can give you a loaner and try in your setup. Every setup is different and so are ears so take every input with a pinch of salt :)

Its really you in your setup that matters in the end. Listen different cables if you can.

Thanks.

:confused::confused:

I'll address your specific question, but first let's hit some basics... You don't specify the characteristics of the cables you are considering.
From the many different cables, assuming you are comparing one from each manufacturer's range that have the same conductor area, then you won't be able to tell them apart by listening.

The only way to get something you like is to try it for yourself, ie your ears will tell you if it's the cable for you or not. (if of course there is an audible difference ;))

That said, as rohit suggests, you should try and find some exerted FM who will lend you some cables to try.
Either that or just buy any old rubbish of adequate thickness, which is what I do.

BTW i am also from Hyderabad, but never seen a walking shop, though...
