Hi
I have a Stewart Firehawk screen and it really makes the images pop out from my projector. I would like to use it but do not have the place to mount it with its fixed frame.
Is there anyone I can give it to in Bangalore who could convert it into a pull down screen please?

It may be a better idea to sell this and buy a pull down. It is not easy to convert a fixed screen to pull down.

You can get a pull down or a motorised screen from the same company. We do not have the technology to convert a fixed screen to a pull down screen in India. Most of these screens are manufactured in factories where a lot of factors including texture and material has a say. At best, you can get a local carpenter to make the conversion, but will he be able to get all the parts needed?

Just selling it and buying a original pull down version is a safe bet.

I agree with Venkat. Many years ago I brought a very basic Dalite screen from the US and explored various options, finally just gave up and got a pull down Dalite. Converting is just too complicated.

If you are DIY enthusiast - then you can try using a tubular motor which is available with RF remote.

Available at 25 k Plus from automated curtain supliers.

this will help in rolling the screen but No idea how tension of the screen can be maintained!!!!

Maybe a thick steel measuring tape could be used for the tensioning bit? However, it does sound like too much effort...

cant it be converted into sliding/folding type, you can slide it upwards when not needed. I dont know how bad or ugly this implementation would be, depends on carpenters you hire :)

Better way is to mount it somewhere and find a way to conceal it when not in use, maybe by use of good curtains or a cabinet where it can be hidden when not in use.
