Worthy new releases in World Music

I listen to a lot of music from today. Like most people I too think that we are surrounded with a lot junk music around. However buried within all the junk are some real gems. There are artists out there, trying to innovate and experiment..filter their influences through their personalities and create something fresh and inspiring. Sadly such music is rare and one needs to really have the patience..or have some friends/other source from where you get to know about such music.. with the internet now, it's not that diffcult.

Some new releases which I really admire..

A lot of great heavy/dark music is also coming out these days but I'll skip mentioning those as most of you won't be interested in that

Mind you I've only mentioned the very recent ones..If you consider the previous decade..Lot of good stuff from there as well.

I listened to some of this. Aren't they on the verge of Metal or just Metal ?

New Age I thought was like Koji Kitaro, Yanni, Windham Hill albums etc. Soft and rather slow .

A great initiative..Thanks...Although it may not be new release, but recently I heard two beautiful albums...one is by Supratik Das, named Raage Anuraage (heard it at Shibasish's place) and the other one is Yatra2 (by Kaushiki and Srabani Sen)...both are mix of indian classical and Rabindra Sangeet...beautiful albums I must say...again special thanks goes to Shibasish...

After reading through this thread I understood that "world music" is any music being released anywhere in this world. Correct me if I'm wrong

And most of the songs I put up have metal "infuences"..but they are far from being "just" metal. Anyway I don't care about genres. There's just good & bad music.
