XTZ 12.17 Edge98104113115116115115116

So, it will take 5 Bic to match the Xtz at 20Hz and 2 to 3 BIC to match at 25Hz and 4 Bicz to match the XTZ at 31.5 Hz and so on.

Whatever the case maybe........one reviewer is not the final say in any matter.....end of the day...it depends on various factors of placement, room treatment, content, cables used and ofcourse what playback content is used....

What is bliss for me can be poison for you....each of us have our own perspectives and views.......we should not snowball brands unless there are a string of end users who claim the same challenge........from what i see there are ample users of BIC and XTZ on HFV and all are happy ........

Bic is doing what it is supposed to do for it’s cost nd the same for xtz. For a sub of 700 watts rms to perform at its best definitely need the right set up Nd room. Obviously the xtz will have more punch nd SPL due to the fact it’s more then twice powerful. Xtz edge nd the standard versions can’t be compared with any sub under 50k.

I think you didn’t understand my point. My room doesn’t deserve a xtz edge is Wat m saying. Bic blends better. How can u compare a sub that has a Mrp of 83k to a 49k sub? Nd 700 watts rms to 250 wats rms? But if a room can’t handle 700 watts rms the sound stage will be very bad. Trust me I have had the 12.17 for a week and it blends better then the edge. Xtz edge is for dedicated HT rooms or pple who set a HT in their big open living room
I get it.
:D

I purchased the xtz 10.17 today. I would like to thank Mr Paneer from MAX Home Theaters chennai for the 5star support. He loaned the xtz 12.17 demo piece and also arranged a brand new edge for me to audition at home. His customer support is beyond comparision to any HTdealers which helped me in deciding to go for the xtz 10.17 and also he gave a good discount. Will post pics later

Just want to update the ownership experience.

This sub made a world of difference in my movie experience. The biggest selling point of the sub for me was the sound tuning options. It has 3 equalizers and 4 port tuning options. That gives you a possible 12 combinations of settings and makes the bass management a little time consuming but well worth it as we get to tune the sub performance to our liking and also easier to calibrate it to blend with our room and speakers. My set up is in a bedroom and hence due to the limited space no matter how much of a good sub i get i had trouble with lot of rumble, vibrations and at times to boomy. The xtz has an equalizer which states "Is a direct countermeasure to the “muddy” bass problem of over represented low bass/room gain. By lowering the bass extension, the bass will be more controlled". And boy oh boy it got rid of most of the rumbles, vibrations and doesn't let the sub go boomy. Also the bass is tight and very powerful. It also has XLR, XLR-Passthrough connections and at this price not sure any subwoofer provides this many features. The build quality of the sub is top notch and also small compared to other subs of same size. Easily xtz 10.17.12.17 and the edge variants are a better choice then the svs 1000 and 2000 for sure being in the same price bracket. It may not go low as the svs 1000 and 2000 but easily beats in-terms of power and features.

Excellent feedback and write up....so SVS and XTZ are supposedly head to head competitors....

Well XTZ does not have the reach of SVS in the HT world. Every one automatically go for the pb 1000 and the 2000 when they have a budget of 60k-1L.The xtz standard variants 10.17 and 12.17 rated at 500watts RMS with 800peak. Where as the PB1000 is rated at 300watts RMS with 720 peak with no additional features the XTZ provides. So more power and features for just an extra 7-8 k. The pb 1000 has a mrp of 67k and the xtz 10.17 has a mrp of 75k.Now coming to the PB 2000 its a 12 inch rated at 500watts RMS with 1100 peak and has a mrp of 107000 with no tuning features just like the pb 1000. Now take the edge variants 10.17 and 12.17. They have a MRP of 83 and 92k rated at 700 watts RMS and 1045 peak. So the edge variants vs the pb 2000 the xtz is around 15k cheaper with more power and features. The edge variants even have a parametric EQ. I have also seen few svs 1000 and 2000 owners say the punch or the mid bass is lacking. The xtz is really punchy and the mid bass is also good. I have heard only the pb 1000 in a friends place its loud and goes deep but the chest thumping bass was just not there. Well dear FM's i am not endorsing or taking side of a brand i am using but just wanted to share the feedback and perks of the xtz subwoowers. And also the xtz is not bulky has the svs. Cheers

Nice honest feedback!

Most of us sometimes get too brand picky ....very few of us really dig deep to check and see if the sub can perform as expected and also deliver value for money spent. Brands and Manufacturers out there are passionate about their sales and targets...each one will try to better each other in some way or the other....as the end user, it is up to use to make a fair decision which supports the expected performance, budget and looks.
