Hello,

I'm looking to upgrade my speakers. But I'm not familiar with audio equipment. Please suggest some options. Room size is 15' x16' ft. My budget is about 50k.

My current setup is a Yamaha YHT-196 / HTR-2064. Ive added a subwoofer, Yamaha sw 300. Its mostly used for movies. I would like to use it a bit more for music as well. So I'm looking to upgrade the LF and RF speakers. Or all 5 of them as a set.

Would 3 way speakers be a better choice than 2 way for music? I am happy with the bass of my sub. Would like speakers with a clean, neutral treble and mid range. And compatible with my current AVR.

How are the following Yamaha options? NS-F160 vs NS-F71 vs NS-555. And Taga Harmony tav-507 V.2? Polk T50?

Thank you.

What would sound good to me may not be great for you as listening experience is very subjective! NS 555 are good and would match well. Polk T series is also good. Audition where possible.

If you are open to pre owned, there are many different brands listed which you can try ..use for a while... sell it after sometime and buy something else. Most of us experiment this way.

Thanks @efernand1

I would like to buy first hand as I probably would keep these for a long time.

For auditioning, I will try, but unfortunately,it might not be possible in my city. Secondly, I probably wont be able to make out any difference. So I will have to rely on general reviews and opinions from here.

Ive preliminarily shortlisted 3 options.
A. Taga Harmony TAV-607F for 42k on avshack.in.
B. Taga Harmony TAV-807F sale for 42k on jamsticks.
C. Yamaha NS-555 - About 55k online?

I do have some more questions.
1. Are jamsticks, avshack.in, audiovisualkart.com reliable for online delivery.

2. Should I consider the 807F over the 607F if they are in the same price?
The TAF 607F and 807F difference seemed to be better bass (6.5 vs 8 inch). Would that make any difference if one already has a dedicated sub?

3. Would the Yamaha be a better choice over TAGA, as it has a price difference of about 13k?
(AI says its midrange speaker is better than the TAGA for my case. 5" PMD cone vs 6.5" Polypropylene cone, fast natural sounding mid range vs better bass extension.) For Yamaha Audio, one advantage is I do have a retailer in my city. And my previous experience was good. I can ask for an exact quote from him.

So I got the Taga 607F, from avshack. Total was 40336 including some cc discounts. Shipping via delhivery was very slow, though packing was okay.

Just setting up the speakers. The treble and mid range is very nice. The bass, I did not like as much compared to my sub. So in the AVR, I'm using them as small speakers, and a crossover as 80 hz. I hope that is a good setting. I will have to adjust my center and surround speaker volumes, as this one is much higher. Or is it a better option to disconnect the center speaker?

Thanks all, esp efernand for the help!

@DS123 , I just checked them. they seem very nice and well regarded. I see in your signature that you have an Apple TV and a Firestick. Would be nice if you could share which one you prefer and why.
