Happy Birthday Panchamda. In 1992, I had rehearsed Kuch Na Kaho with Panchamda with a different antara composed for the female voice. This never got recorded but the melody has stayed in my head all these years. I called Javed Akhtar Sahab and he found the words he had written originally for the female lead and promptly gave them to me. Ever so grateful to him for his kindness and support. I requested my dear friend Jolly Mukherjee who has known Panchamda and his musical team from his kid days to arrange this song for me. Without any questions asked, he has helped me immensely by arranging for musicians and making a fine track.

YouTube is unbeatable when it comes to live concerts - whether western or Indian. And so much of user-uploaded content!I had this on a casette tape 40yrs back ,but have lost it . Its still the finest rock live concert I have ever heard. Jeff beck's version of Cause we have ended as lovers is the Greatest rock live performance i have heard. I couldnt find the cd anywhere , nor its there on Spotify.
On the PQ and SQ front for live concerts and music videos in general, Tidal was fantastic…. “Was” because after tidal turkey shut, it simply didnt make sense (to me)… and the MQA hooplah has subsided quite a bit of late and not without reason. Its a redundant format in high speed internet times.YouTube is unbeatable when it comes to live concerts - whether western or Indian. And so much of user-uploaded content!
Quite possible. Tidal’s strategy is based on sound quality while YT’s on abundant, almost infinite content. Does Tidal source bootleg recordings? I doubt. They’d be limited to the HQ content they get from the labels. YT on the other hand is an ocean… not for the audiophile, but for die-hard music fans, cognoscenti and connoisseurs. Especially if you wanted to deep dive into a genre, YT is the best platform. I keep discovering Hindustani classical concerts, festivals, performances, even artists all the time with the vast user-uploaded content on YT. Much much beyond what I could find on any of the other platforms including Tidal, Spotify and AM (who most have identical content). On the PQ and SQ front for live concerts and music videos in general, Tidal was fantastic…
@DB1989, I find subscribing to the ‘Qello Concerts’ channel on Prime Video a very cost effective way to access live concert recordings. Qello has some of the memorable concerts in history on it. Earlier the direct subscription through Qello app was prohibitively expensive. But Prime Video has brought it down to a very accessible cost, just like they’ve done with some others like MUBi, Acorn TV, DocuBay et al.On the PQ and SQ front for live concerts and music videos in general, Tidal was fantastic…. “Was” because after tidal turkey shut, it simply didnt make sense (to me)
