Thanks for the compliments.
If that is what all this comes to, sorry, all due apologies to all concerned for any misunderstandings though I never meant anything I have said in this forum (where I have been privileged to express my views and opinions, thanks to all those who read me) to hurt people's feelings or sentiments. All I had done, sometimes, was to react to some posts which (to me) sounded very childish, often egoistic, and now and then challenging, even questioning my credibility at times. That is something I have never tolerated in the 50+ years of my life both on personal and professional fronts. In this particular example, the gentleman who wants to come and listen at my home should have sent me a pm as the first step instead of posting publicly;
You had posted on your thread, publicly, that anyone around Cochin was welcome to come for a listen. That's all I did. For further contact details, I always use PM. I didnt know that atm the invite was valid only for Ajay.
I am not running a audio-video shop to buy and sell things, nor am I full time living in my place interacting with local members. I can understand the person from Chandigarh interested in listening to a Ayre component because he is looking to buy something similar, not just to listen and forget. At the same time, a third person comes in between and tries to take a dig, may be to prove his point of discrediting a "clothed monstrosity". So I just reacted, that is all.
Ajay has also stated in this thread, he is not looking to buy a cdp immediately. He is just doing his homework in advance.
Sure, I dont have the means to purchase something like what you have on your rack, but that doesnt mean I cant enjoy good quality sound/music. How do you know I will listen and forget? I have been to other HFV members places to listen to their set ups, many of which were not on my buying radar, but that does not mean I do it to waste their time or mine.
I have always followed your threads, valued what was posted, and replied when I could/should.
Something you have said earlier, is that, only when one listens to good systems does one appreciate the beauty that good spatiality, imaging etc bring to music, that is all I am trying to do.
As I said in my PM, its absolutely fine if you have family matters to attend to. I respect your priority and privacy and I am fine if you turn down my request for a listen on that basis, but not because 'i have nothing better to do' or because 'I listen and forget'.
Enjoy your music, I have nothing more to say.
I don't wish to participate any more in this forum and good bye to all. Thanks too to the moderators who have tolerated me so far. Of course, I agree I will miss this great forum and am sure it is not going to be the other way round.
I always believe that one progresses in life when trying to make sense of each action or thought, be it a person or community or nation. The same applies to our world of audio and video where the more we get educated, the better we understand. At the same time, I never forget the fact that this is only a hobby and not one's life and always there are compromises in what one wants and what one gets, and of course the time you can dedicate in front of your system.
Happy listening and keep the small world of sounds we live alive and educational. I wish you all success and progress.
